Desolventization

Desolventization is defined as "the removal of solvent from a solid by thermal means." While simply stated, desolventization is a process that must explore many issues before selecting the "ideal" technique for your product. Considerations must include:

  • Method of heat transfer; direct or indirect contact
  • What the end product needs to look like, i.e. particle size, color, final moisture
  • Maximum allowable product temperature
  • Desired product moisture
  • Solvent recovery
  • Lowest installed cost
  • Control of material residence time

Crown offers a variety of desolventizers to meet your requirements.
