Canola Preparation

For canola and rapeseed applications, Crown provides complete preparation systems for pre-pressing and full pressing.

For either the pre-press or full-press processes, the seed is conditioned after cleaning, followed by flaking and cooking, where the seed is heated and dried. The seed is then mechanically pressed to remove the oil.

For pre-press processes, the resulting press cake is cooled and sent to solvent extraction.

For full pressing, the press cake is cooled and sent to grinding or storage.

The oil is sent to a screening tank for primary fines removal and is then pumped to a decanter or pressure leaf filter for clarification.
